If you are like many people around the world today who do not know the difference between Jesus and God the father then learn the truth so that it may set you free. Today we live in a world that is full of confusion due to this simple question, is Jesus God the Father?
There seem to be quite a disagreement regarding the deity of Christ. Some religions have said that Jesus is God the Father, others have said that God the father is the Son and the Holy Spirit, few have even dared to say that Jesus is no God at all and that God the Father is the only God there is. Well, if you read the entire Bible, the response to this question is not hard at all to answer and if you have common sense and read the words of Jesus Himself then you will find the truth.
There is only one God (Deuteronomy 4:35), how is it that both the Father and the Son are Gods somehow there must be a mistake. Then what is the truth regarding Jesus and God the Father? Are both God or is there a difference between the two. The mistake people make is that they are assuming Jesus call Himself God but that is not the case, Jesus never directly call Himself God but He has made many comparisons between Him and God the Father but if one reads further on the teachings of Jesus, he or she would see that Jesus always honor the Father and always claim that He is doing the Father’s will and that the Father gave Him all the authorities He need to do what He was doing. Mark 3:25 tells us if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand then why religions are trying to divide Jesus and God the Father for they have similar goals.
It is very clear that at this very moment, Jesus is playing the role of God the Father and therefore He is God. After He has done the Father’s will then the Father will resume His role as God of us all. 1 Corinthians 15:24-28 then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power. For He (Jesus) must reign until He (God the Father) has put all His enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death; for He “has put everything under His feet.” Now when it says that “everything” has been put under Him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When He has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to Him (God the Father) who put everything under Him, so that God the Father may be all in all.
So which one should we choose to be our God and which one would we say is more important than the other. The answer lies within the teachings of Jesus for He always honor the One who sent Him. Jesus is under God the Father’s authority (John 5:30) and one must honor Jesus in order to be accepted by the Father. Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the light and no one goes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Jesus honored the Father God but He also told us to honor Him in order for God the Father to accept us as His children (John 5:22-23).
Therefore Jesus is the key and He answers to God the Father on our behalf. God the Father will reward us for believing in Jesus as being His Son who died in the cross for our sins. By honoring Jesus we have also choose to live by grace over law. For by grace is the only way we can be forgiven from our transgressions. Next time, you are asked the question which God do you serve, the answer is Jesus.
